CAF's Dodge Paratriathlon Camp

As coaches, one of the biggest challenges we face with our athletes is convincing them to BELIEVE they can do much more than they ever thought.  Well, this past weekend at Portofino Island Resort in Pensacola Beach, FL, us coaches watched this in action at CAF’s Dodge Paratriathlon Camp.

First, each of these paratriathletes are pure athletes. Not only do they have to focus on form, power and efficiency, but they also have to do all this while managing a prosthetic on a bike or riding a handcycle.  Their transitions require immense planning and coordination.  And imagine what they have to bring just to one race!

Watching these paratriathletes swim, bike and run is obviously inspiring to everyone.  But as coaches, what we see are athletes who have already made the decision to believe in themselves. They believe in their abilities. This is why they are able to do what they do so well.

It was a true pleasure for us to work with these paratriathletes.  And yes, they are truly inspiring...
