Join the Challenged Athletes Foundation® (CAF) and Multisport Performance Institute (MPI) for the most comprehensive and in-depth Paratriathlon technical training camps in the United States. Open to Paratriathletes in classes TRI 1, 2, 4 and 5, these camps will maximize your performance, get you ready for the season and help you maximize your potential. You’ll receive expert classroom and technical instruction from USA Triathlon-certified coaches who specialize in Paratriathlon, as well as get tips and support from some of USA Paratriathlon’s most decorated athletes. The purpose of CAF’s Dodge Paratriathlon Camps isn’t to get in shape in three days – it’s to set you up with the tools, techniques and skills you need to succeed and reach your goals in Paratriathlon.

Join us and get:

• Properly fit on your bike or handcycle
• Video analysis of your swim stroke
• Analysis of your running gait or push technique
• On the road and on the track instruction
• Classroom sessions focusing on proper planning, training and nutrition
• A thorough explanation of the rules of Paratriathlon
• Lasting friendships and much, much more

There is no cost for the camp, lodging or meals. A $400 stipend will be provided by CAF for air travel.  Participation in CAF’s Dodge Paratriathlon Camp is by APPLICATION ONLY.

History

Paratriathlon has been a major focus of MPI from its inception. In August of 2010, MPI coaches were invited to be a part of the first of its kind Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) Paratriathlon Camp in San Diego, California, as elite coaches instructing 25 Paratriathletes during the multi-day camp. Fully sanctioned by both USA Triathlon (USAT) and the International Triathlon Union (ITU), the camp was a huge success.

In December of 2010, the Paralympics announced that Paratriathlon was selected as an official sport of the games. Carrying on with that momentum, CAF and MPI announced two camps for 2011 - the first being held in Pensacola, Florida at the Portofino Island Resort in May with the second being held at Deni & Jeff Jacobs Challenged Athletes Center in San Diego, California in August. Those highly successful camps continue again in 2012 with MPI Coaches running them along with world-class mentors in Paratriathlon. MPI coaches remain actively involved in the development of Paratriathlon and are excited to support these aspiring and inspiring elite athletes!
