Team MPI Newsletter
September 29, 2020
As athletes, we have a variety of goals. We tend to concentrate on the big things, like how many miles we are riding and running, how many yards we are swimming, or how fast we can go.
But it takes a bit more than that to achieve your goals and to become a better athlete. Sometimes the most important things are the little things that make a difference.
Coach David offers 17 small things you can do to improve your performance and make training and racing more enjoyable.
Interruptions are absolutely part of the endurance sports journey. How we handle, react, and adapt to them play a significant role in the enjoyment, education, and success of that journey.
Understanding that this exists in endurance sports is the first step of many steps you can take to enjoy every minute of every adventure.
Coach Mark shares about the lessons he's learning from the television show, "Long Way Up."

Coach Maria's Monday Minute
This week on Maria's Monday Minute: Balance
"I hear a lot about balance - just being able to stand up and move about your day. Never mind the additional craziness of standing on one foot, being able to exercise while on one foot, or carrying an uneven load of weight while keeping yourself upright."
Keep reading for a brief insight into why balance is important to focus on and 3 ideas to incorporate balance work into a busy schedule!
Coach Laura's Coach Tip Tuesday
This week on Coach Tip Tuesday: Mental Strength
This week, we kicked off our first-ever #TeamMPILife Challenge Series. Challenge #1, which started yesterday, is a seven-day Mental Strength Training Challenge. This week's Coach Tip Tuesday continues with our theme of Mental Strength Training.
You’ve heard Coach Laura talk before about the stories we tell ourselves. Since we are listening, we should be careful about what we say. This week, she dives a bit deeper by offering a specific suggestion to help you frame the conversations that you have with yourself:
Swap the adjectives that you tell yourself. Keep reading over at the blog!

Partner Spotlight: CarboRocket
CarboRocket was founded by Brad Keyes, an avid endurance athlete, who literally couldn't stomach anything during training and racing. Come race day, vomit was almost guaranteed and he often found himself curled up in pain.
Rather than give up his lifelong passion, he decided to take action. After figuring out it was his nutrition that was causing the problem, Keyes began his journey of researching and consulting with top nutritionists and exercise physiologists.
This led him to test ingredients and formulations (on himself and unsuspecting friends) and ultimately create CarboRocket. Finally, something that could be used all day for hydration, fuel, and electrolytes without the negative side effects.
Since launching CarboRocket, Keyes and his team developed an entire line of all-natural endurance sports nutrition for athletes who are struggling to find the nutrition to get them to their finish line.
Head over to the CarboRocket website to learn more about their tasty, trustworthy ingredients and shop their entire product line!
