Even coaches can get a little lax about the fundamentals of race prep. Here's what Coach Mark learned last year at a 25 hour MTB race!

Speed, distance, or racing accomplishments have nothing to do with greatness in sport. Coach Adam shares his view of how each of us can be great!

Athlete Spotlight

Brandon Rouse

training with Coach Allen Stanfield

I'm a UPS driver from Saraland Alabama. I did my first tri in 2015 on a borrowed Schwinn and have been hooked since. I LOVE racing! And I love the after parties! I have been  progressively improving with very little structured training and had a good season last year competing in the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, finishing my 2nd 140.6 at IRONMAN New Zealand, and running Boston. I'm excited to see how fast I can get with some structured training and who better to coach me than the guy who kicks my a$$ every weekend,  Coach Allen!

🤔 Post-Workout Comment of the Week 🏊‍♂️

"Not only did my goggles pop off once, but my cap also scrunched up around the goggles in the back & would have left it in the dust if the goggles weren't holding it on. Some guy didn't have his glasses on, didn't see me, and ran into me. I feel like this one was a race prep swim lol! haha." ~ athlete Sarah Pierce to Coach Maria Netherland following her 1000y time trial.

Team MPI athlete post-workout comments are an important part of athlete-coach communication. They are often quite revealing and humorous in the aftermath of a workout gone well or awry!
