2012 Maritime DeLuna Du

MPI will hold its second annual kids duathlon, Maritime DeLuna Du, on Sunday, March 25th at 7:30am in downtown Pensacola at the DeLuna Plaza Park on South Palafox St. The Maritime DeLuna Du race venue will start from the beautiful park at 7:30am sharp.  This is a RUN, BIKE, RUN race for kids ages 7-15 (age is determined by child's age on December 31 of 2012).

 

 

 

 

NOTE:  As per USA Triathlon Youth Rules:

1. No aero bars on bike
2. No aero helmets allowed
3. No discs wheels allowed

 

 

RACE INFO:

When: Sunday, March 25th, start time 7:30am
Where: Downtown Pensacola at the DeLuna Plaza Park on South Palafox St.

Agae Groups:

The event will have four age group categories each with it’s own unique name:

(Age categories are based by athlete age on Dec. 31, 2012)

 

Wave One:
Ages 7-8: “Pioneers”
Ages 9-10: “Explorers”
Race Distances: Run .3 miles, Bike 2 miles, Run .5 miles

Wave Two:
Ages 11-12: “Conquerors”
Ages 13-15: “Conquistadors”
Race Distances: Run .5 miles, Bike 3 miles, Run 1 mile

The race will have multiple wave starts: Explorers and Pioneers at 7:30am followed by the Conquistadors and Conquerors after the conclusion of that race, ~8:15am.
 

Race Time Line:

6:30am – Transition Opens
7:25 – Transition Closes
7:30 – Wave 1 Starts
~8:15 – Wave 2 Starts
9:00 – Race Finish (or when last athlete finishes)
9:00-10:00 – Awards, Transition Open, Bike & Gear Pickup
9:00-11:00 – Post Race Party

Awards

• Each Athlete gets a Finisher Medal
• Each Athlete gets a Race T-Shirt
• Awards will be given 3 deep to each age group for Male and Female

Entry Fees:

Now - Feb 24th:         $35*    EARLY REGISTRATION
Feb 25th - Mar 18th:  $40*    REGISTRATION 
Mar 19th - Mar 24th   $45*    LATE REGISTRATION

* All participants MUST be a USAT member. Membership for children under 17 is $15 for one year, $10 for single day
