Musings from a Coach...

How I Feel About Running

Updated: Apr 28

From Coach Mark:

We can learn so much from children, as I'm sure all the parents out there can relate. I’ll always cherish the memory of watching first graders in a 1k race that left me smiling in amazement. I was with Jennifer, meeting friends after the 5K run, when we stumbled upon a kids' 1k race. If you've ever seen kids run, you know they have one speed—full throttle! The sight of them sprinting, pausing, red-faced and panting, then dashing off again was simply adorable. What surprised me was how naturally and they ran! Their shoulder rotation matched their hips, they maintained tall postures, and their cadence was impressively high. It was impressive, even with the frequent pauses. This reminds me of a delightful video Jennifer sent me from Instagram. It features a little girl sharing her feelings while running, and I was amazed at how accurately she described the emotions we all experience when we run and why it brings us joy. Enjoy this charming video! ...and Happy Holidays! Gratefully, Mark CEO Team MPI
